ENG 225 - MonstersCredit Hour(s): 3 Focusing on human monstrosity, this course analyzes depictions of monsters in fiction, film, and television. We will study the traits associated with monsters in different contexts, assessing whether monstrosity is thought to be innate, learned, or socially conditioned. Ultimately, we will assesses monsters from historical, psychological, and literary points of view to better understand what our monsters show us about ourselves. Likely course selections: Frankenstein (1818), “A Good Man is Hard to Find” (1953), A Clockwork Orange (1971), The Elephant Man (1980), Breaking Bad (2008), and Joker (2019). 3 Credit(s).
