Spanish (Minor Required), B.A.

The Spanish major provides a program of study designed to develop linguistic proficiency and cultural competence. The goal of the Spanish major is to nurture an appreciation and understanding of the diversity of the Hispanic world. The program encourages civic engagement, critical thinking, strong written and oral communication skills, and global awareness through the study of culture, language, artistic expression, current events, travel, and service. The program prepares students for work and graduate study in education, social work, psychology, criminal justice, business, health sciences, environmental studies, agriculture, journalism, tourism, law, government work, and many more.

 

Experiential Component


The Experiential Component (requirement of the major) can be met by successfully completing:

  • An approved study away program in a Spanish-speaking country (in the E-Term or through one of our partner institutions).
