Health and Human Performance

Ferrum College Health and Human Performance Program is a health, fitness, physical performance, and nutrition based curriculum grounded in current research and science.  Our mission is to craft ethical practitioners committed to helping varied populations to optimize their health and performance.  The holistic approached program is responsible for preparing students by developing and applying knowledge specific to each area of concentration resulting in empowered students that personally value and invest in lifelong physical activity.  This is achieved partly by strong collaborations with professional organizations and opportunities for National Certifications as Personal Trainers, Strength and Conditioning Coaches, Health Education Specialists, and Group Fitness instructors.  Students are able to design an experiential course of study that is impactful for the Ferrum community, Ferrum College students, staff, and faculty, and the Ferrum College student athletes.  2 concentrations are available: Health & Fitness Management and Exercise Science.
