Graduates of the Pre-licensure nursing program earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree which prepares them for successful completion of the undergraduate program as well as the NCLEX exam which leads to licensure as a Registered Nurse. The Ferrum College Pre-licensure BSN Program uses experiential and innovative teaching practices in a caring and personalized atmosphere. Graduates are prepared to provide nursing care through the application of knowledge, theory, evidence, and clinical reasoning to manage illness and promote, maintain, and restore health for individuals, families, and diverse groups across the lifespan. A liberal arts foundation enriches the professional curriculum to help graduates develop thoughtful, caring, and perceptive practices. The Division of Nursing’s mission is to prepare principled, professional, scientifically grounded nurses who embrace discovery, value the richness of diversity, and exemplify caring and compassion as they serve within their communities, both global and domestic.

Upon application to Ferrum College, designate Nursing as your major. After successful completion of semesters 1-3 (See Program of Study ), students may apply for admission to Upper Division Nursing during semester 4 (Spring semester). Application dates, requirements, and deadlines will be published on the Nursing homepage.
