The M.S. in Clinical and Counseling Psychology is a 60-credit hour program designed for licensure as a professional counselor or psychological associate in states that accept graduate degrees from regionally accredited* institutions. Students are required to take 21 foundational courses and then work closely with the Program Director to choose elective courses that may qualify for licensure in their respective state. The degree culminates in two required practica experiences.
* Ferrum College is regionally accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). The Clinical and Counseling Track has been designed to satisfy licensure requirements for states that accept regionally accredited graduate degrees. The program may seek accreditation from CACREP, MPCAC, or APA in the future. However, it is the responsibility of the student to ensure the program will satisfy licensure requirements for their respective state. Ferrum College cannot guarantee licensure or certification.
