NUR 440 - Community Health Nursing

Credit Hour(s): 3
In this course, the nursing process is used to develop, implement, and evaluate care for individuals, families, and groups in the community setting. Concepts of population health are explored and
utilized to frame opportunities to serve patients outside the confines of an acute care setting. Interprofessional collaboration is a cornerstone of community health and students will interact with experts in the field as they learn about assessing communities and populations, resource utilization, eligibility, and unique practice opportunities. Additionally, an emphasis on rural health will be
threaded through the course. 3 Credit(s).
